PHP Web Developer (Junior) - £24k to £30k

We're looking for another enthusiastic computer geek to join our small team of web developers in our Crawley office.

Overview

We're an up-and-coming tech-focussed Digital Web Agency based in Crawley and we're looking for a Junior PHP Web Developer to join our growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to come on board and start their journey as part of a web development company. You should be a driven individual who is prepared to hit the ground running from day one.

Responsibilities

You'll be working on exciting projects that will include:

• Developing exceptionally good ecommerce websites.
• Supporting our clients with issues when they arise.
• Taking designs and building them in to HTML/CSS pages.
• Taking those HTML/CSS pages and turning them in to templates for OpenCart.
• Writing PHP, SQL, XML (vQmod), HTML and JS to add/modify functionality of existing websites.
• Tracking down bugs on existing websites and patching them up.
• Linux Sysadmin tasks such as creating new hosting accounts using WHM and cPanel, compiling and installing libraries and software on Linux servers as required.

About You

You will either be educated to degree level in a relevant subject and/or have undertaken coding projects that have built up your coding ability.

You will already have taught yourself to code to some extent just for fun, and have a strong interest in all aspects of computing. You may be a Linux, Windows, or Mac user and have probably been known to dabble with the Raspberry Pi. You may even have a favourite Computerphile presenter.

You'll be comfortable working with any software programs as required - if you don't know it, your Google-Fu is second to none!

You'll already know what HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL and PHP are and what they do as part of a website - we'll be able to help you take your knowledge from there to the next level and turn you in to a Code Ninja.

You'll have an eye for design, would only ever consider using the font "Comic Sans" as satire, and feel mildly uncomfortable when elements on a web page don't line up to the pixel.

You'll be happy to take a coding test and start on a (paid) freelance trial basis to make sure we're a mutual good fit.

If you're not a UK citizen you'll have Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK and be able to provide your Residence Permit. Unfortunately we cannot sponsor any visas.

The Antropy Interview Process

• After you have sent us your CV, we may ask you some questions by email.
• Next we will ask you for a time and date to be sent our 30 minute coding test by email.
• If your code solutions are good ones, we will ask you for a video interview.
• If you are shortlisted we will ask you to a second coding test and final interview at our office.
• If your second coding test and interview go well, we will give you an offer.
