Our Work
OpenCart Portfolio
Swedex-shop.co.uk is an online specialist store offering a wide range of premium Swedex TCT (tungsten carbide tipped) circular saw blades and related cutting tools, available for industrial and workshop use across the UK. The site stocks hundreds of blade types sized from small diameters up to large industrial formats, designed to work with a variety of machine makes and cutting applications — from woodworking and panel saws to steel and composite cutting.
We successfully rebuilt swedex-shop.co.uk using OCAE (OpenCart Antropy Edition), providing a more stable, secure, and performance-optimised foundation while preserving the existing URL structure and on-page content to protect SEO value.
A dedicated development environment was set up, allowing the site to be rebuilt, tested, and approved before going live. We replicated the homepage structure from the original site and populated it with the client’s existing content, images, and branding.
The Antropy Citrine Theme was installed and adapted to Swedex’s branding, including updating the primary colour scheme and applying existing logos and assets for visual continuity.
We installed and configured required extensions and implemented a series of technical improvements identified in the site audit, including:
- Migrating core file edits into proper OCMod/theme overrides
- Upgrading database tables to InnoDB and adding missing indexes for better performance
- Fixing session handling issues to prevent database bloat
- Improving server and file system security, including moving storage outside the web root
- Replacing hot-linked images with self-hosted versions
- Restricting access to sensitive files and protecting the admin area
Significant SEO and technical SEO enhancements were completed:
- Enabled SEO-friendly URLs
- Implemented robots.txt and corrected sitemap configuration
- Configured automated sitemap generation and caching
- Applied 301 redirects where needed to preserve link equity
A full data migration was carried out from the previous OpenCart installation, transferring customers, orders, products, SEO data, pages, and localisation settings using Antropy’s standard migration process.
Finally, we completed a controlled go-live process with a final data sync to ensure the new store launched fully up to date while minimising downtime.
