Watch out for scam attacking OpenCart sites!

We have had a number of OpenCart customers contact us about a scam whereby they have received an email purporting to be from a customer that takes you to a spoof OpenCart log in page. It is looking for you to fill in your details and submit it back to the scammer. Below highlights the email you get from the "customer".

There are a number of ways to stop spammers from contacting you and I would implore you to consider all of the below.

1) Be aware - the best thing you can do is be aware of any potential scam and always check the domain name before submitting any online forms from an email. In this instance, it is always better to be overly cautious and suspicious.

2) Use a security company like Astra - this will help secure your website and add another layer of protection to prevent hackers and spammers.

3) Our Advanced Captcha - this one is more designed to stop spammers from coming through your Contact us, Registration and Checkout register pages but nevertheless it is more secure than your normal captcha.

If you have also had the same or similar experience then please do email us at info@anropy.co.uk. We can introduce you to our friends at Astra or if you are getting spammers through the contact or registration pages then look to get our captcha installed for you but most of all, be aware yourself and double-check the authenticity of any online form that is looking for your details to be submitted.
