otm-large.jpgOff The Mark Website Case Study

Starting the 'Off the Mark' project with the installation of the new theme on the dev server, we made several customizations to the homepage, including the addition of text above and below categories using the HTML Content module, and integrating a daily cartoon that would be displayed and linked to the daily cartoon page. We also made necessary changes to the header, footer, and made the sidebar more user-friendly by splitting it into sections, which were added separately and were editable from the backend.

Moving on to the category page, we added the category H2 title as text above the sub-category grid and the category description below it. We also added the search bar and made sure the sidebar was displayed in sections. On the thumbnail page, we removed the list view option and added a functional newsletter module, pagination, related keywords, related categories, and custom cartoon sort orders. We also added a lightbox that would show the cartoon image.

For the product page, we changed the layout for landscape cartoons, added a pricing calculator, social media buttons, product descriptions, and keywords and categories. We also added a new field in the admin that would allow the admin to add additional descriptive text to the product page. Finally, for the daily cartoon page, we changed the layout and updated the existing dev site template to match the designs.
