 Identipro Website Rebuild Case Study

Identipro, a UK-based provider of identification products and accessories, required a full rebuild of their existing website to improve usability, streamline internal workflows, and modernise the overall customer experience—without compromising the SEO value accumulated over time.

Project Objectives

  1. Rebuild the Identipro website using OCAE (OpenCart Antropy Edition)—an enhanced version of OpenCart 3.0.4.1 equipped with optimised modifications and extensions.
  2. Maintain existing URL structures and page content wherever possible to preserve established SEO rankings.
  3. Upgrade the storefront design with a modern, responsive theme aligned with Identipro’s brand style.
  4. Integrate essential extensions required for improved functionality while ensuring a smooth development-to-live deployment process.

Solution

Development Environment Setup

We created a dedicated development environment on their secure servers, fully configured with OCAE.

All development work was carried out in this environment. Changes were pushed to the live site only after client testing, approval, and final invoice payment.

This ensured a controlled, testable workflow with zero disruption to the existing live site.

Theme Implementation & Design Customisation

To modernise the site’s look and feel, we installed the Antropy Obsidian Theme, selected for its professional design and compatibility with OCAE.
Key steps included:
    •    Client purchase and supply of the Obsidian Theme license.
    •    Full theme configuration and template adjustments at Antropy’s discretion.
    •    Updating all black theme elements to Identipro’s signature blue (#001F9C).
    •    Placement of the Identipro logo and “Free UK delivery on web orders” banner in the header, replicating the familiar layout from the previous website.
    •    Replacement of the “Powered by OpenCart” footer text with a subtle credit link to Antropy.
    •    Incorporation of all client-supplied logos and image assets.

These changes delivered a fresh, branded, and user-friendly visual identity while keeping consistency with the previous user experience.

Extension Installation & Setup

We handled the installation of all required OpenCart extensions.
Key terms included:
    •    Paid extensions were to be purchased by Identipro and provided to us for installation.
    •    Our responsibility covered installation only, unless otherwise stated.
    •    Any issues with third-party extensions remained with the extension developer.

This ensured clear boundaries, transparency, and predictable support responsibilities during and after the project.

Outcome

The website rebuild delivered a modern, high-performance OpenCart store powered by OCAE’s enhanced capabilities. Identipro benefited from:
    •    A cleaner, more contemporary design aligned with their brand.
    •    Improved usability and daily store operations through OCAE enhancements.
    •    Preserved SEO value thanks to maintaining original URL paths and page content.
    •    A stable, rigorously tested deployment process.

The result was a revitalised ecommerce platform that better supports Identipro’s business goals while maintaining continuity for returning customers and search engines alike.
